Project Morpheus

This 2-person bed was crafted from poplar hardwood except for the legs. The wood had been used before and was bought second hand, so it had to be shopped and oiled well. There are intricate patterns visible in the wood that lend it a unique character.
The legs were varnished blue to make them stand out (no pun intended). Especially with a wooden floor, it would otherwise risk the bed of being absorbed too much in all of the wooden textures.
The sides are doweled to the legs separately, and after that all the sides were fixed using metal L-shaped corners. This combination makes the bed very steady, while at the same time keeping it possible to deconstruct the bed for moving.
